I’ve come to realize that God’s people are hurting, and they are looking for real answers. How is it that we miss those hurting around us?  Just because people smile doesn’t mean that they are happy. God’s people are hurting and they need to know that we (the Saints) are genuinely concerned about their pain and that we love them. Take a moment to think about how can you make the difference.

You can make the difference by just showing that you care. I’ve heard this cliche many times, “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” Show love to people and don’t be so quick to give the usual smile and church hug and then move on routinely to the next person. Take time to offer prayer to people. Take time to embrace those around you and show them that you do care.  What would Jesus do?

Jesus was driven by compassion.  This was the power behind (W)hat He (W)ould (D)o.  We may not always be able to offer monetary relief, but prayer and a concerned heart go a long way.

John 13:35 declares, “By THIS men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” They won’t know it by you plopping down on the pew, faithfully, each Sunday. They won’t know it by you singing in the choir or ushering at the door.  They will know that you are a disciple of Christ by your love.  Love is the key!  Love will lead you to listen & learn  the concerns  of those around  you.   Love will  lead to the compassion that Jesus had for  the hurting.   Remember to love!

As you go about  your day, make it a point to let people know that you are genuinely concerned about them!  Don’t be so selfish! Pay attention to the needs of those around you.
