Kingdom Woman
By Dr. Tony Evans
Chapter 2 Review
“A Woman of Hope”

Dr. Evans begins the chapter by talking about the childhood story of “Cinderella”.
We all know the story of Cinderella and the warm and fuzzy ending it beholds. Dr. Tony in chapter two encourages us as women to compare and contrast our own lives with Cinderella’s. So many of us have been in hopeless situations like Cinderella. We’ve been amongst so called family who have treated us like the ugly stepchild. We’ve been in relationships that have left us verbally, emotionally, and mentally abused! Hopefully like Cinderella, most of us have met a prince! I know him as the The Prince of Peace. He has not only rescued me, but he has saved me and changed my whole outlook.

Dr. Tony Evans encourages us to know that a kingdom woman never loses hope! I believe that if we truly accept our value, then we position ourselves to never be without hope. God never promised us that storms would not come our way. However, he did promise us that we can have joy in the midst of our storms. Romans 5:3 states that we can boast in our infirmities knowing that our infirmities produce patience, and patience produces hope! The next verse in that passage states that hope in God’s promises will never disappoint!

In this chapter Dr. Tony Evans talks about the woman in Luke 13:11, who had an infirmity. The Bible says that this woman was crippled by a spirit. She was stuck in a bent over position. What I love about this woman was that despite here crippled condition, she found herself in church. I believe that she exemplified hope! It’s unclear on whether or not the woman knew that Jesus was be there on that Sabbath day. Regardless, the crippled woman received healing upon encountering Jesus. I am reminded of the song, “When Jesus Comes”, by Sara Jordan Powell. Jesus saw the crippled woman and told her to come forth. The crippled woman obeyed and was healed! She left church that day standing tall and rejoicing!

We can be thankful that we have a heavenly father that gives us hope even in the midst of our infirmities.   Being a Christian does not exempt us from the storms of life.   The bible declares in Ecclesiastes 9:11 that time and chance happen to us all.  In other words, we are not exempt from finding ourselves in seemingly hopeless situations.  However, encourages us to know that a Kingdom woman is a woman of hope!

For I know the plans that I have for you, to give you an expected hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

In closing, remember that a Kingdom Woman never loses hope.  Remember that God does sometimes send others to help us hope. No matter how dark your day may seem, find a way to hope!  Even in the midst of your infirmity, fight until hope prevails.
